OpenGradient Launches Privacy Focused AI Assistant

June 05, 2026
OpenGradient has introduced OpenGradient Chat, a generative AI platform designed with privacy-focused architecture that anonymizes user data through encryption, Oblivious HTTP, and secure enclaves.

OpenGradient has introduced OpenGradient Chat, a generative AI assistant that prioritizes user privacy announced in a press release. The service uses local encryption, Oblivious HTTP routing, and secure enclaves to ensure that user prompts are never linked to personal identities.

Messages are encrypted on the user's device before transmission, routed through a relay that separates IP data from message content, and processed within a trusted execution environment. These layers make it technically verifiable that OpenGradient cannot access or log identifiable user data.

The application connects to major AI models including ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, and ByteDance Seed. Users can switch between models within a single interface, perform live web searches, generate images, and upload files such as PDFs and code. Each new user receives 1,000 free credits.

OpenGradient plans to expand the platform to include dedicated image and video models under the same privacy framework. The company is backed by a16z crypto, SV Angel, and the NVIDIA Inception Program, with participation from Illia Polosukhin, co-creator of the Transformer architecture.
