Novo Nordisk Foundation Allocates DKK 479 Million for AI and Health Projects
The Novo Nordisk Foundation has awarded DKK 479 million to nine innovative projects as part of its 2025 Challenge Programme, announced in a press release. These projects aim to advance health and sustainability through global collaboration, involving researchers from Denmark, Sweden, The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Australia, and the USA.
The funded projects span four key themes: biomanufacturing, cardiometabolic diseases, infectious disease interactions, and artificial intelligence. Notably, the AI-focused initiatives include developing personalized cancer treatment methodologies, optimizing solar cell technology, and creating early warning systems for Arctic climate changes.
Each project receives up to DKK 60 million, with objectives such as improving gas fermentation processes to reduce CO2 emissions and exploring the links between infectious diseases and cardiometabolic conditions. The Challenge Programme, established in 2014, continues to foster significant research and innovation in addressing societal challenges.
