OpenEvidence has developed an AI system that scored a perfect 100% on the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE), announced in a press release. This achievement marks the first time an AI has reached such a milestone on the USMLE.

The AI system not only answers each question accurately but also provides detailed explanations and references from reputable medical sources like the New England Journal of Medicine and the Journal of the American Medical Association. This capability aims to enhance medical education by offering verifiable feedback to students.

OpenEvidence plans to release additional AI models and tools throughout the academic year to democratize access to quality medical education resources. These tools will focus on creating educational vignettes for knowledge recall and case-based learning, customizable by training level and grounded in current medical literature.
