Zifo Survey Highlights AI Adoption Challenges in Biopharma

A survey by Zifo Technologies reveals growing AI investment in biopharma, but data management issues hinder progress.

Zifo Technologies has conducted a global survey revealing that while AI and machine learning investments are increasing in the biopharma sector, data management challenges remain significant. In a press release, Zifo shared that nearly two-thirds of organizations are investing in AI across their value chains, yet only 32% of respondents are confident in their ability to leverage scientific data effectively.

The survey highlights that 70% of participants find accessing necessary data for AI projects difficult, with data silos and integration issues being major obstacles. Additionally, the lack of standardized data practices and aging infrastructure complicates data exchange, with 26% of organizations still relying on manual data capture processes.

Despite these challenges, AI adoption is progressing, particularly in research and development, with 39% of organizations reporting moderate adoption. The focus is on integrating AI into routine workflows rather than large-scale deployments, aiming for incremental improvements in efficiency and insights.
