MirrorTab Secures $8.5M to Enhance AI-Powered Browser Security
MirrorTab, a San Francisco-based cybersecurity startup, has raised $8.5 million in seed funding to enhance its AI-powered browser protection technology, announced in a press release. The funding round was led by Valley Capital Partners, with participation from GV, Ludlow Ventures, Altman Capital Fund, NextGen Venture Partners, and Alumni Ventures.
The company plans to use the new capital to expand its capabilities, enhance integrations, and commercialize its product. MirrorTab's technology focuses on securing web applications by removing the browser as a direct target, thereby protecting data, code, and APIs from cyber threats such as hacking and malware.
MirrorTab's approach involves using isolation technology to create a secure, bot-proof wrapper around web sessions. This method ensures that sensitive information remains protected even if the client is compromised, without requiring additional software or plugins. The company aims to address the vulnerabilities that traditional web security controls fail to cover, particularly against AI-driven attacks that mimic human behavior.
Brian Silverstein, CEO and founder of MirrorTab, emphasized the importance of this technology in the current landscape where browsers have become a primary target for cybercriminals. With this funding, MirrorTab is poised to challenge established players in the cybersecurity space by offering a unique solution that prioritizes user experience while providing robust protection.
