HP Preinstalls Perplexity App on Windows PCs

HP and Perplexity AI announced that the Perplexity Windows app will come preinstalled on selected HP PCs. The rollout begins with the HP ZBook Ultra G3a mobile workstation, with more Windows devices due in the coming months.

The app will appear in the Windows taskbar and provide access to Perplexity Computer. The software can work with local files, the web, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Teams, and more than 400 other apps and data sources, including Snowflake, Salesforce, HubSpot and Revit, and Perplexity says Computer orchestrates more than 15 models.

Supported devices can use Portable Computer to run tasks locally without sending data to the cloud. Users can download a local model, work without an internet connection, and authorize cloud access when a task requires additional research or reasoning. Availability depends on the device configuration.
