Genesis Therapeutics has announced the appointment of Aleksandra Faust, Ph.D., as its new Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer. At DeepMind, she contributed to foundational model learning research and was involved in projects like Gemini and generalist web agents.
Dr. Faust's career spans over two decades, during which she has developed machine learning for complex systems such as robotics and autonomous vehicles. Her previous roles include co-founding reinforcement learning research at Google Brain and leading machine learning for self-driving car planning at Waymo.
Evan Feinberg, Ph.D., founder and CEO of Genesis, expressed enthusiasm about Dr. Faust joining the team, noting her potential to enhance the company's GEMS platform. This platform integrates AI methods to generate and optimize molecules for drug discovery, aiming to create breakthrough medicines for severe diseases.
