DEUS EX MACHINA Secures EU Funding for AI Ingredient Upscaling Platform
DEUS EX MACHINA has been awarded €2 million in funding from the European Union to develop an AI-driven Ingredient Upscaling platform, announced in a press release. This initiative is part of the EU's "Ellada 2.0. National Recovery and Resilience Plan" and aims to address sustainability challenges in the food industry by transforming production by-products into valuable resources.
The platform will leverage advanced AI technology to optimize production processes and convert waste by-products into commercial resources. It will be accessible through a secure, self-serve SaaS suite, allowing food companies to upload production by-product streams for AI analysis, receive detailed biochemical profiling, and access evidence-based health benefit associations.
The Ingredient Upscaling platform is expected to launch in Q4 2025, with pilot programs already underway with select consumer packaged goods partners. This project is led by a multidisciplinary team of experts in data science, software engineering, and bioinformatics, ensuring both scientific rigor and practical applications.
