Colt DCS Begins €2.3 Billion Data Center Expansion in Paris
Colt Data Centre Services has commenced construction on the first of five new data centers in Paris, as announced in a press release. This initiative is part of a €2.3 billion investment aimed at enhancing France's digital infrastructure by 2031. The new facilities will increase Colt DCS's total capacity in Paris to 170MW.
The first facility, Colt Paris 2, is located in Villebon-sur-Yvette and is designed to support high-density AI workloads with a hybrid cooling approach that produces zero water waste. The data center will also utilize 100% renewable power and recover waste heat for community use. Once operational, it will deliver 40MW of power, accommodating over 100kW of IT power per cabinet.
Colt DCS plans to build three data centers on a 12.5-acre site in Villebon-sur-Yvette and two additional centers on a 5.3-acre site in Les Ulis. The construction will employ 300 people and create over 100 new jobs locally. This expansion underscores Colt DCS's commitment to sustainable growth and innovation in the digital economy.
