ChemLex Raises $45M and Opens Self-Driving Drug Discovery Lab in Singapore
ChemLex has raised USD 45 million and established its global headquarters and self-driving laboratory in Singapore, announced in a press release. The funding round was led by Granite Asia and will support the hiring of additional engineers and chemists to expand the company’s research capabilities.
Founded in 2022, ChemLex develops AI-powered systems that accelerate chemical discovery in the pharmaceutical industry. Its autonomous chemistry platform operates continuously, conducting and analyzing experiments in real time to shorten the synthesis and optimization process from months to weeks.
The company also signed a memorandum of understanding with Singapore’s Experimental Drug Development Centre to advance small molecule drug discovery through automation. ChemLex’s move aligns with efforts by the Singapore Economic Development Board to strengthen the country’s life sciences and deep tech ecosystem.
