Athena raises $2.5 million for AI legal services in property deals
Athena raised $2.5 million in pre seed funding from a16z speedrun, according to Tech Funding News. The company will use the funding to cover more property types, locations and areas of transactional law.
Athena provides legal services for commercial property deals through AI agents and its associated law firm, Athena Circle. The agents review agreements, identify anomalies, draft redlines and prepare client correspondence, while lawyers make legal decisions and approve work before delivery.
Athena launched publicly in August and serves 22 clients. Its affiliated firm charges a fixed fee per transaction, typically 30 to 50 percent below what clients paid on recent deals. The company says attorney review time fell by more than 70% in the first six weeks as the system learned from attorney corrections and client preferences.
