Avarra raised a $17 million Series A led by Duration Ventures to expand its AI avatar platform for sales teams.

Avarra raised a $17 million Series A led by Duration Ventures, the company announced in a press release. The round included Lightspeed Venture Partners, Draper Associates, GTMfund, Alumni Ventures and a strategic investment from Zoom.

Avarra provides AI avatars that help sales teams practice customer conversations, prepare for calls and answer questions during live deals. The same avatars can also interact with prospective customers through company websites.

The company said contracted annual recurring revenue grew 698% year over year. Customers now complete more than 10,000 coaching and role play sessions on the platform each week. Avarra will use the funding for engineering and sales hiring, as well as expansion of its customer facing tools.
