Astrin Names Medical Director as Certitude Breast Expands Nationwide

Astrin Biosciences has appointed Dr. Tanya Gupta as Medical Director as Certitude Breast expands nationwide, the company said in a press release. Gupta is a practicing medical oncologist specializing in breast oncology and previously worked as a breast oncologist and Clinical Assistant Professor at Stanford.

Certitude Breast is a blood based test that analyzes molecular signals across more than 9,000 proteins with a machine learning classifier. It is intended to provide additional risk assessment after screening mammography, particularly for women aged 40 or older with dense breast tissue and patients in high risk screening programs.

Astrin develops cancer diagnostics using proteome profiling, mass spectrometry and machine learning. Its laboratories are accredited by the College of American Pathologists and certified under the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments for complex clinical testing.
