Aramco Ventures to Open Paris Office for European AI Investments
Aramco Ventures, the venture capital arm of Saudi Aramco, will open a new office in Paris in 2026 to strengthen its presence in Europe’s technology sector, announced in a press release. The office will focus on investments across artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and quantum computing, positioning the company to better access France’s and Europe’s growing innovation ecosystems.
According to Reuters, the Paris office will manage European AI investments expected to total hundreds of millions of euros. CEO Mahdi Aladel said the initiative will begin with French startups and funds before expanding across Europe. France’s government-backed AI programs, a strong research base, and companies such as Mistral have made it an attractive location for this expansion.
Aramco Ventures already has ties to France through its investments in quantum computing firm Pasqal and neuromorphic vision startup Prophesee. The new office will further collaboration with European founders and institutions, supporting technologies in AI, deeptech, and sustainability.
The company, headquartered in Dhahran, operates globally with offices in North America, Europe, and Asia. Its strategic investments support Aramco’s broader goals in operational decarbonization, digital transformation, and energy diversification.
