Apple will add Shared Location and Dating and Relationships descriptors to App Store Connect on November 16, the company said on its developer website on November 2. Developers must complete the declarations when submitting an app update or changing an age rating questionnaire.

The Dating and Relationships category covers features that connect people for dating or relationships. It also covers virtual companions that engage users in sexual or romantic content. Apps in this category will receive a minimum rating of 18+.

All apps must complete the new declarations by January 12, 2027. Shared Location may not affect the minimum rating in some regions, but Brazil requires an A16 rating for it and an A18 rating for Dating and Relationships. Developers can request a different official rating from Brazil's Ministry of Justice and Public Security.
