Anthropic Expands Claude AI Model's Context Window to 1 Million Tokens

Anthropic has announced a significant update to its Claude Sonnet 4 AI model, increasing its context window to support up to 1 million tokens. This enhancement allows enterprise customers to send larger amounts of information in a single prompt, accommodating requests as extensive as 750,000 words or 75,000 lines of code. This update marks a fivefold increase from the previous limit of 200,000 tokens.

The expanded context window is available to Anthropic's API customers and through cloud partners such as Amazon Bedrock and Google Cloud's Vertex AI.
