Anduril Industries Seeks $2.5 Billion in New Funding at $28 Billion Valuation
Defense technology startup Anduril Industries is in talks to raise up to $2.5 billion in a new funding round, which could increase its valuation to $28 billion. This development comes just months after the company raised $1.5 billion at a $14 billion valuation in August.
The funding round is expected to be led by Founders Fund, a venture capital firm backed by billionaire Peter Thiel. Founders Fund has been a supporter of Anduril since its inception in 2017 and is reportedly committing $1 billion to this latest round, marking its largest investment to date.
Anduril, founded by Palmer Luckey, is known for its AI-powered defense technologies and aims to challenge traditional defense contractors by developing and selling its own products. The company has seen significant growth, with its revenue doubling to approximately $1 billion in 2024.
The company is also planning to invest nearly $1 billion in a new factory in Ohio to produce autonomous weapons systems. This facility is expected to be the size of about 87 football fields, further expanding Anduril's manufacturing capabilities.
