Amira Learning Approved for Ontario Schools Through Pearson Partnership
Amira Learning has been approved for distribution by the Ontario Education Collaborative Marketplace (OECM) under its Systematic and Explicit Evidence-Based Reading Programs and Interventions agreement, announced in a press release. Through a partnership with Pearson Canada, Amira becomes the only AI-powered reading intervention available in Ontario’s public procurement system, eligible for purchase using provincial Ministry of Education funding.
The AI-driven program provides assessment and tutoring tools designed to improve reading outcomes for students across grades K–8. It supports whole-class, small-group, and individual instruction, using speech recognition to identify reading difficulties and deliver real-time feedback. Amira captures over ten times more measurement points than traditional assessments in 20 minutes or less, helping educators tailor instruction based on detailed data.
Available through the OECM procurement channel, Amira’s offerings include the Amira ISIP Assess and Amira Tutor modules. The system aligns with Ontario’s literacy framework emphasizing systematic and evidence-based instruction, and is now accessible to school districts across the province through Pearson Canada.
