OpenAI Expands ChatGPT for Teachers to 55 More US School Systems

OpenAI is providing free ChatGPT for Teachers access to more than 100,000 additional educators and staff across 55 US school systems.
OpenAI has expanded ChatGPT for Teachers to 55 additional school systems across 20 states, the company announced on its website. The partnerships will provide access to more than 100,000 additional educators and staff.
OpenAI now works with more than 100 kindergarten through grade 12 organizations across 30 states. The program provides free access and training to more than 300,000 educators and staff. ChatGPT for Teachers remains limited to verified US educators, faculty, and administrators, and will remain free through June 2028.
The company also introduced a common student data privacy agreement covering 16 states. Agreements under the Student Data Privacy Consortium framework cover 15 states, while California has a separate agreement.
Data shared in ChatGPT for Teachers workspaces is not used to train OpenAI models by default. District leaders can manage access through role based controls, while participating districts receive training, peer learning sessions, and implementation guidance.
