XtalPi Partners with Biopharma Company to Develop Oral Small Molecule Therapeutics
XtalPi has entered a strategic partnership with an international biopharmaceutical company to develop oral small molecule therapeutics targeting a G protein coupled receptor, announced in a press release. The agreement follows a successful pilot phase that validated XtalPi's quantum physics and AI algorithms for addressing complex metabolic targets. The deal includes an upfront payment, full funding for early research, and potential milestone and royalty payments exceeding $400 million.
Under the collaboration, XtalPi will deploy its structure based drug design platform that integrates quantum physics, generative AI, and automated chemical synthesis. The platform enables rapid Design Make Test Analyze cycles by combining computational design with laboratory validation.
The target receptor in this program is known for high conformational flexibility, which makes it difficult for traditional screening methods. XtalPi addressed this by using enhanced sampling simulations and multi conformational screening to map receptor dynamics and predict binding affinities with its XFEP platform.
XtalPi was founded in 2015 by physicists from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The company provides AI and robotics powered R&D solutions for pharmaceuticals and other industries.
