Varda, LeoLabs, and Anduril Demonstrate AI-Enabled Space Tracking

September 10, 2025
Varda Space Industries, LeoLabs, and Anduril have successfully demonstrated on-orbit maneuver tracking and AI-enabled software integration in preparation for hypersonic reentry, announced in a press release.

Varda Space Industries, LeoLabs, and Anduril have successfully demonstrated a joint initiative to track and monitor orbital maneuvers using AI-enabled software, announced in a press release. This collaboration showcased the integration of LeoLabs' Global Radar Network with Anduril's Lattice AI platform to provide real-time situational awareness of Varda's W-3 vehicle maneuvers ahead of its hypersonic reentry.

The demonstration involved Varda's W-3 vehicle, which executed a series of orbital maneuvers before returning to Earth on May 13, 2025. LeoLabs' radar network tracked these maneuvers, and the data was integrated into Anduril's Lattice platform, enabling distributed users to access real-time information. This capability is crucial for space domain awareness, offering early warnings and insights into potentially threatening activities in Low Earth Orbit (LEO).

The companies plan to expand this demonstration by using LeoLabs' new Scout radar to detect Varda capsules during hypersonic reentry. This radar is designed for rapid deployment and can track launches and reentries globally, with data integrated into Anduril's platform to support government and defense operations. The initiative highlights the agility and innovation of emerging space companies in supporting national security through advanced technology integration.
