Utah Education Network, in collaboration with Connected Nation, has launched the 2025 Utah School Technology Inventory, announced in a press release. This initiative aims to provide an updated overview of technology usage in Utah's public and charter schools. Conducted biennially since 2015, the inventory was established through Senate Bill 222, which mandates regular reviews of classroom technology.

For the first time, the inventory will include questions about the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in classrooms and teaching practices. This expansion will help educators understand where AI is currently being used, identify areas needing training and resources, and prepare students for an AI-driven future.

In 2023, the inventory collected over 82,000 data points from 1,034 schools, revealing that the device-to-student ratio has increased since 2015 but remained stable between 2021 and 2023. The survey found that 38% of Utah schools offer mobile learning devices on a 1:1 basis, allowing students to take them home.
