Uber says AI agents booked only four rides during Halloween week

Nov 4, 2026
AI agents booked four Uber rides and placed 500 Uber Eats orders during Halloween week, when the company processed about 320 million combined trips and orders.

Only four rides were booked through AI agents during the busiest week in October for Uber, the company said on its third-quarter earnings call on November 4, 2026, according to TechCrunch. Chief financial officer Balaji Krishnamurthy said Uber handled about 320 million combined trips and orders, while agents placed 500 Uber Eats orders.

CEO Dara Khosrowshahi described current use of AI agents as early and limited. He said booking a ride in the Uber app takes about 50 seconds, while ordering a favorite meal again takes about 90 seconds.

“Every single AI system company is talking to us,” Khosrowshahi said. He estimated that about eight major assistants are currently available and expects that number to exceed 10.

Tensordyne Napier: What If One Rack Could Do the Work of Nine?

Tensordyne

This Tensordyne whitepaper presents Napier, an inference-focused AI processor and rack-scale system based on the company’s TDN Math logarithmic number system. It examines infrastructure requirements for large mixture-of-experts and agentic models, compares major inference architecture approaches, and details the TDN AIP processor, TDN72 pod, TDN Link fabric, and Napier Ultra configuration. The paper reports simulation-based performance, cost, and accuracy-validation results, including Tensordyne’s projected comparison of one Napier rack with a nine-rack Nvidia Rubin plus Groq deployment; the chip is reported as taped out and in fabrication.
