Tract plans a 500MW data center campus with up to seven buildings in County Durham, its expansion into Europe.

Tract plans a 500MW data center campus in County Durham, UK, according to Data Center Dynamics. The proposed Durham Technology Park would occupy a site between South Hetton, Murton and Easington Lane.

The campus could include up to seven data center buildings and an on site substation. Tract plans to submit a planning application to the local council in December 2026.

The site is near the Hawthorn Pit substation, where a new 400kV substation is under construction as part of the Eastern Green Link 1 project. The project marks Tract's expansion into Europe. The Colorado company, founded by former Cologix CEO Grant van Rooyen, acquires sites and gets them zoned, powered and ready for other firms to build data centers on.
