AirTrunk Secures AU$4.25 Billion for Sydney Data Center
AirTrunk secured an AU$4.25 billion green loan to fund continued construction of its SYD3 data center campus in Western Sydney, according to Data Center Dynamics. A group of 32 Australian and international financial institutions backed the loan.
The 8.3 hectare campus could provide 400 MW of capacity at full buildout, with 42 data halls and 70,000 square meters of technical space. The current expansion is under construction and is expected to be completed by mid 2028.
The loan includes margin adjustments tied to environmental measures. Construction plans include lower carbon steel and concrete, plus a target to divert at least 90 percent of nonhazardous construction waste from landfill.
