Telstra Opens Perth to Sydney Aura Fibre Route
Telstra launched a Perth to Sydney route on its Aura Network, the company announced in a press release. The route connects Western Australia with cloud, data centre and business hubs in eastern Australia, as well as subsea cable systems serving international markets.
The route is the longest section of Aura completed so far. Telstra has built 9,000 kilometres of the planned 14,000 kilometre network, with active routes across Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra. Aura is designed to provide up to 35 times more fibre capacity per path than conventional fibre routes.
The network uses separate fibre paths for express traffic and regional connections. Customers can reserve dedicated capacity, adjust capacity as needed or purchase a managed service. Microsoft and Google have secured capacity on the network for cloud, AI and digital infrastructure traffic.

Tensordyne Napier: What If One Rack Could Do the Work of Nine?
Tensordyne
This Tensordyne whitepaper presents Napier, an inference-focused AI processor and rack-scale system based on the company’s TDN Math logarithmic number system. It examines infrastructure requirements for large mixture-of-experts and agentic models, compares major inference architecture approaches, and details the TDN AIP processor, TDN72 pod, TDN Link fabric, and Napier Ultra configuration. The paper reports simulation-based performance, cost, and accuracy-validation results, including Tensordyne’s projected comparison of one Napier rack with a nine-rack Nvidia Rubin plus Groq deployment; the chip is reported as taped out and in fabrication.
