Tencent announced Digital Jingdezhen: Porcelain Craft Adventure, an AI powered cultural heritage game tied to the new UNESCO World Heritage listing of the Jingdezhen Handicraft Porcelain Industry Sites, in a press release.

The game lets users explore Jingdezhen porcelain making traditions through interactive play. Tencent said it uses AI assisted procedural content generation to recreate five major porcelain heritage sites and historical production scenes, including town layouts, buildings, decorative elements, and pedestrians.

The project is built on the Jingdezhen Porcelain Cultural Heritage Multimodal AI Dataset. Tencent said the dataset includes more than 30,000 documentary records, over 5,000 ceramic gene specimens, and data on nearly 1,000 representative ceramic artifacts in collections worldwide.

Tencent also developed tools linked to the dataset, including the Jingdezhen Ancient Ceramics Gene Database, the World Ceramics Interactive Map, and the Digital Jingdezhen AI Companion. The game includes AI digital humans based on large language models and an AI 3D feature that turns uploaded images into digital porcelain forms.
