TECO Secures Major Data Center Projects in Malaysia

TECO Electric & Machinery Co. has announced significant data center projects in Malaysia, marking its entry into the hyperscale data center sector.

TECO Electric & Machinery Co. has announced a major milestone in its expansion into the hyperscale data center sector, following its acquisition of Malaysian MEP engineering company NCL Energy. Announced in a press release, TECO has secured significant data center projects in Selangor and Johor Bahru, Malaysia, with a combined capacity of 178 MW and a total value exceeding MYR 170 million.

These projects mark TECO's entry into the hyperscale data center market, highlighting its advanced technical capabilities in MEP engineering. The company will undertake the Elmina Business Park project in Selangor, focusing on server room installations and hyperscale fiber-optic communication infrastructure. In Johor Bahru, the Sedenak Tech Park project will similarly emphasize fiber-optic solutions.

TECO's Intelligence Energy Business Group is also executing a data center MEP project in Singapore, featuring the world's first 13,864-core hyperscale fiber-optic cable installation. This initiative aims to enhance data transmission architecture, boosting the performance of the data center.
