Eaton announced in a press release a $30 million investment to build a new manufacturing facility near Omaha, Nebraska, to expand U.S. production of its medium-voltage switchgear. The 370,000-square-foot site in Bellevue will support the growing need for electrical infrastructure in data centers, utilities, and industrial operations.

The new facility is expected to begin production in the first half of 2027 and will create more than 200 engineering, manufacturing, and production jobs. Hiring is set to start later this year. Eaton stated that the site will be optimized for high-volume switchgear manufacturing to meet the speed and scalability requirements of AI data center customers.

The company noted that nearly 3,000 new data centers are planned or under construction across the U.S., driving demand for modular and scalable power systems. The switchgear produced at the Nebraska facility will integrate into Eaton’s prefabricated power systems designed to deliver flexible and efficient power distribution.

Eaton’s current Omaha operations will relocate to the new site, expanding local manufacturing capacity. The company said its ongoing investments in U.S. manufacturing, totaling more than $1.5 billion since 2023, aim to strengthen its supply chain and support the increasing electrification and digitalization of the power industry.
