Lightedge Acquires Tier III Data Center in Kansas City

May 02, 2026
Lightedge has acquired a 3 megawatt Tier III certified data center in Kansas City, Missouri, expanding its infrastructure capacity in the region. The turnkey facility was fully pre-leased at acquisition and adds to the company’s growing U.S. data center portfolio.

Lightedge announced in a press release the acquisition of a 3 megawatt Uptime Institute Tier III certified data center in Kansas City, Missouri. The facility expands Lightedge's capacity in the region and was fully pre-leased with Rights of First Refusal in place at the time of acquisition.

The data center offers concurrent maintainability and N+1 or 2N redundancy for power, cooling, and networking. It was acquired as a turnkey site requiring no capital buildout, allowing customers to access the new capacity immediately. The facility includes dual utility feeds, independent distribution paths, and enterprise-grade security and environmental controls.

Lightedge plans to extend its full compliance portfolio to the site, including certifications such as HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC 1 and 2, PCI DSS, ISO 27001, and NIST. The company serves clients in regulated sectors including healthcare, finance, insurance, and government.

The acquisition follows Lightedge’s 2024 expansion into Minneapolis with a 3.6 megawatt data center and its purchase of Connectria, which added six more facilities to its portfolio. Since GI Partners’ investment in 2021, Lightedge has completed five acquisitions and expanded its network and cloud capabilities across the United States.
