Nebius to Acquire Eigen AI for $643 Million to Boost Inference Platform
Nebius Group has agreed to acquire Eigen AI, a model optimization company, for approximately $643 million in cash and stock, announced in a press release. The transaction includes cash and Class A shares valued based on Nebius’s 30 day weighted average stock price and is expected to close following customary approvals.
The acquisition will integrate Eigen AI’s inference and post training optimization technologies into Nebius Token Factory, a platform for running and fine tuning open source AI models. Eigen AI’s technology stack has achieved top benchmark performance across several models and will be combined with Nebius’s global compute infrastructure.
Eigen AI’s founding team, composed of researchers from MIT’s HAN Lab, will join Nebius and establish a new engineering and research presence in the San Francisco Bay Area. Their work includes Sparse Attention and Activation Aware Weight Quantization, techniques widely adopted in model optimization.
Following the acquisition, Nebius Token Factory customers will gain improved performance and reduced inference costs, while existing Eigen AI clients will gain access to Nebius’s global infrastructure. Nebius expects the deal to strengthen its position in the expanding AI inference market.
