TECfusions Expands Data Center Capacity with Virginia Acquisition
TECfusions has announced the acquisition and rezoning of 73 acres in Clarksville, Virginia, to expand its data center capacity by an additional 300 MW, announced in a press release. This strategic move aims to meet the increasing demand for high-performance computing infrastructure.
The expansion involves consolidating six parcels into a single site to optimize land use and maximize buildable area. A seventh parcel will be used for affordable multi-tenant housing to support the expansion's staffing needs. TECfusions plans to repurpose abandoned 138kV transmission lines from a decommissioned coal plant, showcasing its commitment to adaptive reuse and efficient resource management.
Simon Tusha, Founder and CTO of TECfusions, highlighted the company's innovative approach to data center development, emphasizing collaboration with local authorities and sustainable infrastructure solutions. The project underscores Clarksville's growing role as a technological hub, bringing economic benefits and positioning the community at the forefront of the data center industry.
