TalentLMS Report Finds Training Key to Retention Amid AI Job Shifts
TalentLMS has released its 2026 Annual L&D Benchmark Report, highlighting how employee training remains critical for retention, announced in a press release. The survey of 1,000 employees and 101 HR managers found that 73% of employees would stay longer at their companies if provided with training opportunities.
The report shows that the percentage of employees who would leave due to lack of training dropped from 41% to 24% in earlier years but has now risen again to 35%. Despite this, more than half of employees say their workloads leave no time for development.
AI continues to reshape learning priorities, with 70% of HR managers planning to open new AI-related roles in the coming year. However, nearly half of HR leaders said their AI training aims to make jobs easier to automate, and employees report a 20-point gap in perception compared to HR managers’ views on the adequacy of AI training.
The study also found that 65% of employees report rising performance expectations, while 45% feel increased pressure to deliver more. The report concludes that organizations must allocate time for learning, close the perception gap between HR and employees, and build AI literacy across all levels of the workforce.
