aiEDU Opens 2026 Community Catalyst Program for Rural and Indigenous Education
The AI Education Project announced in a press release the launch of the third cycle of its 2026 Community Catalyst Program. The national grant initiative aims to expand AI literacy and educator capacity, focusing on organizations that serve rural and Indigenous communities.
The program will offer grants of 25,000 and 50,000 dollars to school districts, educational service agencies, charter organizations, and nonprofit groups preparing educators and students for AI use in teaching. Applications opened on May 1, 2026, and Letters of Intent are due by May 21. Final awards will be announced on July 3, 2026.
Funded projects may include professional development sessions, teacher learning communities, train the trainer models, instructional coaching networks, and district level AI planning. Each 12 month grant will begin in summer 2026, with participating organizations selecting one or more support pathways from aiEDU, such as teacher training, leadership development, classroom integration, and curriculum design.
