STRADVISION Joins Arm Physical AI Program
STRADVISION is joining Arm Total Design for Physical AI, the company said in a press release, contributing its visual perception work to a proposed Robotics Capability Framework.
The framework is the substance of the announcement. It is intended to give the industry a common language for defining and comparing robotic system capabilities, connecting use cases and autonomy targets with system requirements and robotics architectures. Arm frames physical AI development as an integration problem spanning silicon, models, middleware, tools and applications, and presents the framework as a way to reduce fragmentation, ambiguity and duplicated engineering work across that stack.
STRADVISION's contribution is production experience rather than research. The company has spent more than a decade putting perception systems into vehicles that ship, covering detection, classification, depth estimation and semantic segmentation across front camera, surround view and multi camera configurations on several automotive compute platforms. It argues that experience transfers to physical AI systems, which have to run inside real compute, power, thermal and cost budgets.
Dermot O'Driscoll, Arm's vice president of go to market for physical AI, said STRADVISION brings proven perception expertise to the ecosystem and the framework. STRADVISION chief business officer Philip Vidal said the central challenge is specifying, integrating and shipping perception capabilities within real world constraints.
Founded in 2014, STRADVISION is based in Seoul and has more than 270 employees across Seoul, San Jose, Detroit, Tokyo, Shanghai and Dusseldorf. Its SVNet software ships on vehicle models through partnerships with manufacturers.
