Smack Technologies has raised $32 million in seed and Series A funding to establish the first frontier AI lab dedicated to national security. The company plans to expand research and development of its AI systems for the U.S. Department of War and allied forces.

Smack Technologies has raised $32 million in seed and Series A funding to build what it calls the first frontier AI lab for national security, announced in a press release. The round was led by Geodesic Capital and Costanoa Ventures, with participation from Point72 Ventures, Felicis, Scribble Ventures, Bloomberg Beta, and others.

The company, founded by two MARSOC veterans, is developing domain-specific AI models powered by deep reinforcement learning. Its dual product suites, Omega and Alpha, are designed to speed up decision-making across multiple time horizons for the U.S. Department of War, its allies, and partners.

Smack Technologies has already secured contracts with the Joint Fires Network and the Marine Corps Warfighting Lab. With this new funding, the company plans to expand its technical team and scale research and development activities to support all branches of the U.S. military.

The company says its goal is to deliver what it calls “Decision Dominance,” enabling real-time analysis of multimodal sensor data to support rapid military planning and operations.
