SDMC presented an AI Home architecture that combines cloud and edge computing with Physical AI capabilities. Its demonstrations included AI displays, streaming boxes, a fiber gateway and shared edge computing hardware.

SDMC showcased a deployable AI Home architecture at IBC 2026 in Amsterdam on September 16, the company said in a press release. The architecture combines cloud and edge computing with Physical AI capabilities.

SDMC demonstrated its Cedar multimodal model and Cedar Agent, which are built on Google's Gemma open model. Gemini provides broader cloud based reasoning, while an AI Station powered by the NVIDIA Jetson T5000 supplies shared edge computing for home devices.

The demonstrations included AI Home displays, AI streaming boxes, a Google TV 4K Projector, home network management tools and an AI Fiber Gateway. SDMC said operators can deploy these services across existing devices while processing some workloads locally for faster responses and greater privacy.

The showcase followed SDMC's selection for the Google Cloud Proactive Physical AI Acceleration Program. The companies are working on technology co-creation, scenario validation and service pilots, including connected home control, autonomous cleaning and robotic manipulation.
