SAS Introduces AI Solutions for Healthcare Cost Management
SAS has announced new AI models and solutions aimed at healthcare payers and providers to improve cost management and health outcomes, as stated in a press release. The new offering, SAS Health Cost of Care Analytics, is designed to support decision-making regarding the quality and cost of care.
Built on the SAS Viya platform, the solution will be available in July 2025 and aims to enable more cost-effective treatment pathways, reduce unnecessary admissions, and decrease hospital stay durations. It utilizes health claims data to construct and analyze claims as episodes of care, providing a comprehensive view from detection to treatment and care management.
In addition to the analytics solution, SAS is introducing ready-made AI models such as SAS Medication Adherence Risk and SAS Document Analysis. These models are designed to enhance patient engagement, improve quality metrics, and streamline medical record evaluations. The solutions will be showcased at the AHIP 2025 conference in Las Vegas, where attendees can experience live demos and expert Q&A sessions.
SAS continues to leverage its expertise in data and AI to deliver solutions that address complex healthcare challenges, focusing on improving operational efficiency and patient care outcomes.
