SAP and Cyberwave have deployed fully autonomous AI robots in SAP's St. Leon-Rot logistics warehouse, marking the operational rollout of Physical AI within SAP facilities. The robots, integrated through SAP's Logistics Management and Business Technology Platform, perform packaging and shipping tasks autonomously.

SAP and Cyberwave have deployed fully autonomous robots powered by AI in a live SAP logistics warehouse in St. Leon-Rot, Germany, announced in a press release. The deployment marks the operational use of SAP's Physical AI capabilities within its own facilities.

The robots operate within SAP Logistics Management (LGM), a cloud based logistics execution system built on SAP Business Technology Platform. Through SAP's Embodied AI Service, warehouse tasks such as box folding, packaging, and shipping fulfillment are translated into robot commands, enabling end to end automation. The integration was completed in minutes using Cyberwave's robotics platform.

Cyberwave's system allows robots to learn from demonstrations and adapt to changes in layout or object type. The company uses Vision Language Action and Reinforcement Learning models to enable robots to generalize across tasks instead of relying on fixed programming. This reduces training time from weeks to hours and allows non-expert operators to teach new tasks directly.

At the St. Leon-Rot site, the robots are performing repetitive logistics tasks autonomously, increasing throughput and freeing human workers for other operations. SAP plans to continue expanding its Embodied AI initiatives to optimize both internal and customer logistics processes.
