Sand.ai raised $200 million in a Series A extension that valued the Chinese video generation startup at more than $1 billion, according to DealStreetAsia. The round was jointly led by CoStone Capital and Wangsu Science & Technology.

State-owned Pudong Venture Capital Group, an investment arm of Shanghai International Group and several other investment firms participated. Existing investors iMPC, CAS Star, and HyT Capital also joined the round. It was Sand.ai's third round of 2026 and brought its fundraising over the past 10 months to $300 million.

The company develops the Magi-1 video model, the GAGA-1 audio and video model, and the open-source MAGI-2 Preview. Its paid VidMuse video creation service reached more than $10 million in annual recurring revenue within two months of its January launch. Sand.ai will use the funding for model research, training, inference infrastructure, product updates, and international expansion, and plans to release the official version of MAGI-2.

The paper reports simulation-based performance, cost, and accuracy-validation results, including Tensordyne’s projected comparison of one Napier rack with a nine-rack Nvidia Rubin plus Groq deployment; the chip is reported as taped out and in fabrication.
