Red 6 and Northrop Grumman Collaborate on Autonomous Systems
Red 6 has announced a partnership with Northrop Grumman to accelerate the development and integration of autonomous systems, announced in a press release. This collaboration focuses on equipping Northrop Grumman's Beacon platform with Red 6's Advanced Tactical Augmented Reality System (ATARS).
ATARS is designed to create virtual outdoor worlds that provide threat-relevant training scenarios, enhancing safety and enabling next-generation aircraft training. This integration aims to prepare aviators for the collaborative combat aircraft era by offering realistic and scalable training environments.
The Beacon platform serves as an open-access testbed ecosystem, allowing third-party partners to test new autonomous solutions. By combining Red 6's augmented reality capabilities with Northrop Grumman's flight software, the partnership seeks to accelerate the development of autonomous mission capabilities.
