Arbe Robotics Introduces Gryphon Radar for Unmanned Ground Vehicles

Oct 19, 2026
Gryphon uses 4D imaging radar to help unmanned ground vehicles detect obstacles and navigate rough terrain when visibility or satellite navigation is limited.

Arbe Robotics introduced Gryphon, a 4D imaging radar system for unmanned ground vehicles, the company said in a press release. The system is designed for navigation across rough and unpaved terrain in dust, smoke, fog, rain, snow and darkness.

Gryphon uses 48 transmitting and 48 receiving channels to produce a dense 4D point cloud. Its data can support obstacle detection, free space mapping, tracking, odometry and localization when GNSS satellite navigation is unavailable or degraded.

The radar can identify rocks, debris, barriers and vegetation, along with ditches, holes and washouts. Its solid state hardware has no moving parts and can support vehicles ranging from small unmanned platforms to large industrial machines.
