Probabl Raises €13M to Expand Open-Source AI Forecasting Platform
Paris-based AI startup Probabl has raised €13 million in seed funding to expand its open-source AI forecasting platform built around the scikit-learn machine learning library, reports Sifted. The seed round was co-led by Serena Capital and Capital Fund Management, with participation from Mozilla Ventures and the French sovereign wealth fund French Tech Souveraineté. This brings Probabl’s total funding to €18.5 million.
Founded in 2023 by former Scaleway CEO Yann Lechelle and contributors to scikit-learn, Probabl operates the open-source library originally developed at France’s national research institute Inria. The company aims to provide transparent and customizable forecasting tools for data scientists, allowing them to inspect model assumptions and manage uncertainty.
In addition to its open-source offerings, Probabl has launched Skore, a premium product for enterprise data science teams. Skore enables model lifecycle management, including version control, monitoring, and optimization, and is currently in beta testing with select clients.
Probabl plans to use the funding to expand its engineering and product teams across Europe, improve real-time forecasting capabilities and interpretability, and grow its user community through training and certification programs.
