Perkins Coie and Ashurst Plan Merger to Form Global Law Firm
Perkins Coie and Ashurst have announced plans to merge into a single global law firm named Ashurst Perkins Coie, according to a press release. The firms said the combination will create a top-20 global law firm with a presence in 52 offices across 23 countries.
The new firm will bring together Perkins Coie’s technology, corporate, and intellectual property practices with Ashurst’s expertise in energy, infrastructure, and financial services. The combined entity will have approximately 3,000 lawyers, with more than 450 recognized by Chambers and Partners.
Ashurst Perkins Coie will be led by Bill Malley and Paul Jenkins as Global Co-CEOs, with Karen Davies and Brian Eiting serving as Co-Chairs. The firms stated that the merger, pending partner approval, will leverage their combined financial strength and technology investments, including AI systems designed to enhance advisory capabilities.
Flagship offices will be located in Seattle, London, Sydney, and New York, supported by additional hubs in major financial centers such as Brussels, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Tokyo.
