MSBAI Secures $1.2M DoD Contract for OrbitGuard Development

MSBAI has secured a $1.2 million contract from the Department of Defense to advance its hybrid-intelligence system, OrbitGuard, for space domain awareness announced in a press release. The contract, awarded under the Direct-to-Phase II Small Business Innovation Research program, aims to mature OrbitGuard for operational deployment.
MSBAI will utilize its GURU platform to integrate OrbitGuard with DoD enterprise data services, enabling near-real-time detection of anomalous satellite behaviors. The system employs a hierarchical neuro-symbolic architecture, combining multi-source orbital data with symbolic checks and reinforcement-learning planning agents.
The contract will allow MSBAI to scale OrbitGuard's processing capabilities to handle over 20,000 resident space objects with high accuracy and uptime. The project also focuses on enhancing AI models and ensuring seamless integration across DoD systems, with a prototype expected to meet NIST SP 800-53 controls for security compliance.
