Motorola Expands AI Assist Chat for Public Safety Agencies
Motorola Solutions has announced the expansion of its Assist Chat AI technology to public safety agencies, offering a complimentary starter edition to enhance data accessibility for first responders. In a press release, the company detailed that the AI assistant is designed to securely connect users to their agency's data, procedures, and case history while maintaining compliance with FBI and CJIS security standards.
Initially rolled out in the US, Assist Chat is set to expand to Australia and New Zealand, regions that share the P25 digital radio standard with the US, facilitating a smooth transition. The AI-driven features include real-time processing of radio transcripts and location metadata, enabling faster decision-making by dispatchers. The system can automatically generate dispatch incidents with recommended responses, such as sending an ambulance to a crash site.
Assist Chat functions as a conversational interface across Motorola Solutions' public safety workflow applications, combining large language model technology with secure access to agency knowledge bases. It allows users to conduct voice or text queries on dispatch, records, evidence, and prior case histories within a secure platform. This expansion aims to streamline emergency response and improve the efficiency of public safety operations.
