Moon Surgical's AI-Enhanced ScoPilot Gains FDA Clearance

Moon Surgical has received FDA clearance for its ScoPilot feature on the Maestro System, announced in a press release. ScoPilot, powered by NVIDIA Holoscan, is the first AI application to operate intraoperatively on a commercial surgical robotic platform. This feature allows surgeons to maintain control of the laparoscope without disengaging from their instruments, enhancing surgical flow and focus.
The Maestro System, which was FDA-cleared in June 2024, has been used in over 1,100 surgeries across the United States and Europe. It leverages NVIDIA-accelerated computing and AI to generate extensive surgical datasets, driving the development of next-generation Physical AI capabilities. Moon Surgical's collaboration with NVIDIA aims to further advance the Maestro System's AI capabilities through the NVIDIA Isaac for Healthcare platform, as detailed in a press release.
