Metronome Raises $50 Million to Boost Usage-Based Pricing in AI and Software
Metronome has secured $50 million in Series C funding to advance its usage-based billing platform, announced in a press release. The funding round was led by NEA, with participation from a16z, Greyhound Capital, and others, bringing Metronome's total funding to $128 million.
The company, which powers billing for over 150 million end users, has seen an 8-fold increase in dollars billed on its platform in 2024. Metronome's clients include major players like OpenAI, Anthropic, and NVIDIA, who rely on its platform to streamline billing processes and scale revenue efficiently.
In addition to the funding, Metronome has appointed James Brown as its first Chief Product Officer. Brown, formerly of Lacework and Cisco, is expected to drive the company's vision of transforming billing into a growth engine. The new capital will also support research and development efforts, enabling customers to leverage pricing and billing data for improved customer experiences and strategic decision-making.
Metronome's platform eliminates the need for companies to build complex internal billing systems, offering speed, flexibility, and reliability to scale without limits. This funding marks a significant step in Metronome's mission to modernize billing and align pricing with delivered value in the software and AI industries.
