Meta Introduces AI-Powered Voice Translations on Facebook and Instagram

Meta Platforms, Inc. has launched an AI-powered voice translation feature for Facebook and Instagram, allowing creators to translate their content between English and Spanish. This feature, announced on August 19, 2025, is available globally in markets where Meta AI is offered, and aims to help creators reach a broader audience by breaking language barriers announced on their website.

The translation feature uses the creator's own voice to maintain authenticity and offers an optional lip sync function to align translations with the creator's lip movements. Initially, the feature supports translations from English to Spanish and vice versa, with plans to add more languages in the future. It is accessible to Facebook creators with at least 1,000 followers and all public Instagram accounts.

Creators can activate the translation option by selecting "Translate your voice with Meta AI" before publishing their reels. They can also review translations and toggle the feature on or off as needed. Additionally, a new metric in the Insights panel allows creators to track views by language, providing insights into how their content is performing across different linguistic audiences.
