Intento Benchmarks 229 AI Translation Solutions Across 100 Languages

Oct 16, 2026
Intento released an interactive report comparing the quality, cost, and speed of 229 AI translation solutions across 100 languages.

Intento released its State of Translation Automation 2026 report in a press release, providing an interactive benchmark of 229 AI translation solutions across 100 languages. The solutions use 57 AI models and machine translation engines from 37 vendors, including Amazon, Anthropic, DeepL, Google, Microsoft, OpenAI, and xAI.

The report evaluates basic translation quality, terminology, tone, formatting, and gender neutrality. A one step solution and a qualifying backup were available for 54 languages at the Basic level, 38 at the Standard level, and 12 at the Advanced level. None of the real time one step solutions assessed in 84 languages met every Standard requirement. Among LLM solutions that first fell short on general quality, Intento says 24% met it after post editing and 60% after a quality assessment and repair step.

Intento conducted the tests from June to September 2026 using four English business texts totaling 2,978 words. Its language engineers assessed translation quality, cost, and processing time, while three LLM judges from three vendors identified errors and code based checks evaluated formatting requirements.

Intento has a commercial interest in the findings: it sells AI translation workflows to enterprises, and the report builds solutions the same way the company does for its more than 60 enterprise customers.
